New Chair of our Board of Directors

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is thrilled to announce Dr. Gina Gregory-Burns as the new Chair of our Board of Directors. Gina is succeeding our immediate past chair, Jon Eberly, who successfully led us through the COVID-19 pandemic to new heights. Gina has been an invaluable asset to our board over the past seven years, bringing decades of experience in alleviating health disparities from her career with Kaiser Permanente.

Dr. Gregory-Burns' voice has been crucial in advancing our organizational objectives to enhance health equity in the Bay Area. She spearheaded Diversity and Equity programs at Kaiser Permanente, and continues to demonstrate why knowledge of diverse communities can help build a better future for us all. In her work as an Internal Medicine Physician, she instigated education programs that addressed communication, technological, and cultural barriers.

"What an honor it is to have a person like Dr. Gina Gregory-Burns as our new board chair. Her lifelong commitment to equity, and education is invaluable. She has a profound awareness of the multicultural, multilingual and multigenerational communities we serve

here in the Bay. I am so thankful for all she has done and look forward to her continued stewardship and insights” -Jamie Bruning-Miles, President and CEO of YMCA of Greater San Francisco.

Dr. Gregory-Burns brings a keen eye for developing impactful initiatives that reach all parts of a community. Her focus on addressing accessibility inequities aligns perfectly with our organization's 2030 Vision.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to step into the role of Board Chair. I am committed to building on the strong foundation laid by my predecessor, Jon Eberly, fostering even greater collaboration among our multicultural stakeholders, and expanding our reach

to ensure that every voice in our community is valued.” - Dr. Gina Gregory-Burns

We are grateful to have Gina on our team. We look forward to her guidance in educating stakeholders and enhancing our community engagement efforts to create a more equitable future for all.
