About the Job

This position is responsible for performing therapy in a manner that is consistent with the legal and ethical standards set by the professional field and the YMCA of San Francisco’s mission.  This position is responsible for providing counseling services, including providing assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and case management with youth and families.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience in social work with youth and families OR;
  • A Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology or social work with at least 1 year working with youth and their families
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office 365
  • Must be available Monday-Friday 8am – 4:30pm. Flexible based on school day
  • Ability to assess and provide therapy to a diverse client and student population.
  • Strong diplomacy and collaborative skills in school environment, while maintaining client confidentiality standards. 
  • Strong multi-cultural awareness.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Current YMCA approved CPR and First Aid certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in crisis management, collaboration, school services and provision of training
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
