About the Job

The Marina Beacon Academic Intervention Linked Day Teacher must also be employed by SFUSD as a classroom teacher at Marina Middle School in the 2024-2025 school year.

Marina Beacon’s Linked Day Program is an academic support program intended to serve the needs of our schools lowest performing students and English Learners by supporting them in making significant gains in reading, writing, and math throughout the year. The Linked Day Teacher assists in the alignment of out-of-school-time academic support with school day learning by supervising the lunchtime homework clinic program at Marina Middle School and/or providing academic support in the afterschool program. The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, productive and supportive environment within the homework clinic and afterschool. In addition to classroom management, the teacher will assist students with homework as needed, and manage the incentive system.

Teachers will be scheduled for homework sessions during lunch and afterschool based on interest and available shifts. Teacher may also be asked to assist with other Beacon programs and events on an on-call basis, though this is not a requirement of the position. Teachers will only work for and be paid by the Beacon program during the hours they are not under contract with the San Francisco Unified School District.
