About the Job

This position will provide supportive case management services with an intentional focus on engaging fathers/men to access and utilize services. This position will require administrative and coordination of services that promote family engagement at all levels (that promote father inclusion). This position is on-site within our Family Resource Center. However, outreach is an important component to this position, and engaging and closely working with HOPESF sites at Alice Griffith, Sunnydale, and Huntersview to promote inclusion and cohesion is required. The overall goal of the Family Advocate is to engage families with supportive services that will promote family safety, stability, and well-being. Proactive engagement and outreach skills are essential in assisting and connecting the clients to utilizing on-site services and community resources to support their safety and stability.

The regular work hours for are Monday-Friday 9am- 5:30pm. However, this position also requires some nights and weekends. Travel to and from local site visits and meetings is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Must be available Mon-Friday Some nights/weekends
  • Two years of experience working with underserved, high-risk, and isolated populations.
  • Possess domestic violence certification or able to obtain certification within six months of hire date.
  • Experience providing comprehensive case management duties, family centered: intake assessments, treatment plans, and the ability to set and monitor service goals for each client/family.
  • Ability to maintain an overall “active caseload” of 25-30 clients at any given time.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of computers and general office equipment
  • This position requires someone with outstanding work habits; punctual, consistent, cooperative, and team oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience providing direct domestic violence/client services and community engagement.
  • Bilingual Spanish or Cantonese
