About the Job
Responsible for implementing policies, procedures, processes, and training necessary to help prevent and reduce incidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards by YMCA employees, members, youth participants, and guests. Develop and direct safety initiatives/projects within all branches, camps, and facilities owned and/or leased by the YMCA of San Francisco.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of professional work experience in a related field.
- Experience working with and knowledge of local, state, and federal safety rules and regulations (CAL OSHA, OSHA).
- Experience with root cause analysis, incident investigation, safety assessments, and developing, implementing, and evaluating written safety plans.
- Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines to implement policies and procedures.
- Experience in communicating with members of the public in a service environment.
- Ability to communicate risk-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience with aquatic safety and/or facility management.
- Experience with camp facility safety and/or management.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze trends/issues.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Office 365.
- Ability to travel throughout San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo Counties.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to make sound business judgments promptly and demonstrated experience with prioritizing under time pressures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Insurance or OSHA experience, training, certifications.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
