Wellness for Your Workforce

SafeHouse is delighted to be partnering with the YMCA in order to support our residents in their physical and emotional wellbeing. As a transitional housing program that serves women who have experienced sexual exploitation, supporting body agency and self empowerment are critical components of the healing work we do. By coordinating with the Y, we are able to provide memberships for our residents and reduce the barriers they face in accessing gyms or programming. The staff at the Y has been incredibly welcoming and accommodating, assisting our staff with with streamlined billing and membership enrollment for the people we serve. One resident graduated from transitional housing recently and reflected on her time at SafeHouse. One of our participants reflected recently on what a difference enrolling in the Y has made in her self esteem and how using the gym reduces her anxiety and helps her stay motivated to remain in school and pushing forward toward permanent housing. Thanks again to the Y for providing such wonderful community resources and working with local non-profits to make sure hard to reach folks have the opportunity to learn about and enroll in services!
