GREAT SUMMERS START AT THE Y

The YMCA of San Francisco is committed to providing quality youth programming and exceptional summer camp experiences to our Bay Area families.

Do you know the incredible feeling of being in nature?

The beauty of California redwoods, the calm and thrill of the Pacific Ocean. At the Y, we believe that time spent outdoors helps us be our healthiest, best selves. We’re a leader in programs that build connections to nature, give access to outdoor spaces, and provide outdoor education and healthy fun to the families, seniors, adults and youth we serve.

Highly Trained Mentors

Meet with mentees once each week to discuss issues occurring in the youth’s life while engaging in enriching activities in the community.

Youth

Are referred from schools, counselors, parents and other YMCA programs.

Program Directors

Provide ongoing mentor support, family support, and case management.

Program Benefits

Together, mentors and mentees share diverse experiences, develop a stronger sense of belonging within their communities, and create lasting memories!

Traditional Overnight Camp is packed full of fun activities with plenty of time for making new friends!

Mini Camp offers a shorter session where younger and first-time campers can sample the camp experience and all of the fun activities.

Counselor In Training is for campers who wish to be a camp counselor someday and still want to experience the fun of camp.

Through Y programs, our Y kids and teens:

  • Develop friendships while learning hands-on skills at day and specialty camps;
  • Build resilience while experiencing the ocean and mountains at our resident camps;
  • Gain confidence at our teen leadership programs; and
  • Gain a sense of exploration at our school-based outdoor education experiences.
