About the Job
Under the leadership of the SRO & Community Services Coordinator, the YMCA Community Services Assistant will assist with our branch’s SRO Family Support and Immigrant Support Center which are funded through Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development. This position will also be supporting resident services and programming at Broadway Cove. Duties include planning and implementing recreational activities, checking in regularly with participants, providing and connecting resources and services, supporting community program events, supervision of participants, collecting participant feedback, and providing administrative support. The goal of the program is to engage, collaborate, and provide resources for families living in Chinatown SROs and the surrounding community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 18+ years old
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must be able to work from xx p.m. to xx p.m. and Saturdays
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, reliable, and highly organized
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (will complete upon hire)
- Fingerprint background check clearance
- YMCA approved CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to work onsite and offsite
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English
