RICHMOND DISTRICT YMCA MEMBERSHIP

The Richmond Membership allows you to use all cardio and strength training equipment, free weights, jacuzzi, dry sauna, and group exercise classes. A member must be 13 years of age to use the fitness facility. There are no barriers to joining the YMCA, financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Joining Fee:  Individual Memberships - $49  Family Memberships - $99

Teen(13-17yrs) $25 per month

Senior (65+yrs) $46 per month

PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP

A Program Membership is required for non-members to participate in the Richmond District YMCA programs. The Program Membership allows you to participate in any of the San Francisco Association YMCAs special programs by paying the designated Program Membership Fee for that program. Please see the San Francisco Association Membership for the list of YMCAs included in the Program Membership. This membership does not entitle you to use any fitness equipment, sauna, jacuzzi and classes that are offered in the group exercise schedule.

Individual Program Membership: $50 Per year
Household Program Membership*: $75 Per year

Payment

Membership dues may be paid in full for either six or twelve months in advance. Payments can be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express at the Member Services Desk. An electronic fund transfer via checking account or credit card is an easy way to join the YMCA and divide the annual fee into a manageable monthly payment. Your account will be automatically debited on the 5th or the 20th of each month. A $15.00 service charge applies to rejected drafts, and a minimum 30 day notice from the payment date is required to stop the bank draft. Membership dues are subject to change at any time pending 30 day written notification to members.

Cancellation

You may terminate your membership with a 30-day written notice and return of your membership card. A temporary card will be issued for the remainder of the month. For annual memberships, any remaining months will be refunded. Bay Area joining fees are non-refundable after the first 30 days of membership.

Refunds

As of 11/1/11, the YMCA of San Francisco will refund the unused portion of annual dues paid, excluding the 30 days notice to cancel upon receipt of written notice.  Monthly bank drafts will remain continuous until 30 days written cancellation notice prior to bank draft date is given to the Membership Department. 

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance, to the extent possible, is made available through the generosity of our members and donors. Please inquire at the Member Services Desk for an application. All applications take 3 weeks to process.

Membership Holds

Membership may be placed on hold for medical reasons only.  Medical membership holds are free of charge and require a doctor’s note.  Non-medical membership holds will no longer be available as of 11/1/11.

Guest Policy

As of January 1st, 2012 YMCA members may bring in up to two guests at a time, free of charge. Guests of members will be entered into our system, invited to take a tour of the facility, and if interested, asked to join.  Guests may visit the YMCA of San Francisco once.  Guests who are visiting for an extended period will be offered a variety of short-term membership packages.

Membership I.D. Cards

It is mandatory to bring your membership card each time you come to the facility. If you forget your card, you must have a valid picture ID, or you will not be allowed into the facility. If you lose your card you may purchase a new one for $5.00.

Parking

The Richmond District YMCA’s parking lot is located behind the building. Additional parking is available by permit at the Alexandria Theatre Parking lot. Permits can be obtained at the Member Services Desk with a valid I.D. and YMCA membership card.
