Description
Chinatown YMCA After School Programs provides after school homework help and enrichment projects for students at elementary schools/after school sites. We serve more than 600 students in the Chinatown area by helping them to develop their English and math skills. Tutors will mainly be responsible for assisting students in understanding schoolwork concepts and completing homework assignments.
Skills and Requirements
•Interest in and comfort working with kindergarten through fifth grade students
•10th grade and up; Volunteers under 18 will require to complete parent liability release forms
•Ability to commit to a minimum of 1 day per week for a 1 hour and 15 minutes per session for 1 academic semester or year of service; those who can commit more days or for the entire year will be given priority
