Teen After School Success
For one mother…This teen program has done tremendous wonders for my son. This program has motivated, encouraged, taught, and given him a sense of direction. I believe the Buchanan YMCA is that something that will do what it can to the kids in the community; to make them strong and they can build strong families when they are adults and continue to keep their community strong.
Buchanan YMCA Summer Camp Success
For a homeless family…For the very first time, our kids were able to take part in activities such as overnight camping. We are so thankful for the opportunity to send them to day camp.
For one youth…Since her mother no longer received third-party subsidized care, she received financial assistance to attend the summer programs. When applying for financial assistance, her mother expressed concerns about her daughter, letting us know that she had a tough year, getting into fights with other children. She wanted her daughter to attend summer program because of the comfort level she had with the YMCA staff. By the end of the summer, she was able to recognize her strong leadership skills.
