About the Job
Stonestown YMCA Youth Basketball Coaches will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, interactive, structured, and well-supervised environment during youth basketball clinics, practices, and games. Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Youth Sports Director, and will need to be punctual, flexible, willing to take initiative, and available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Saturdays throughout the Youth Basketball Season (October 2023 -March 2024).
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must be highly motivated to provide quality youth sports experiences
- Must be a team player
- Varsity basketball experience or higher
- Familiar with the rules of basketball and comfortable enforcing them
- Must be available for five Saturday clinics (Oct-Nov 2023) and seven Saturday games (Jan-Mar 2024)
- Current YMCA approved CPR and First Aid certification (can complete upon hire)
- Fingerprint background check clearance
- Must be willing to participate in evaluations and supervision meetings as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-Lingual skills in English/Spanish, English/Cantonese, English/Mandarin
