If your desire is group fitness, then you're in for a treat! The
YMCA offers over 84 classes a week presented in a challenging, non-competitive
environment. All classes (unless otherwise noted) are FREE to all
facility members.
Class Descriptions
Body Sculpt uses hand weights, body bars, bands, tubing and medicine balls to build muscular strength and endurance.
Boot Camp Combines calisthenics, running/walking, body weight resistance training, weight training, jump roping, crunches, obstacle courses, agility and power drills, sports drills, medicine ball work, partner drills, surprises and much more.
Bosu Sport high intensity workout on a Bosu. Bosu Ball is three pieces of equipment in one: an exercise ball, a balance board and a step-platform. This dynamic training device challenges a range of activities; cardio, strength training, athletic and sports conditioning and core training.
Capoeira a unique combination of dance, acrobatics and fighting skills.
Cardio Kickbox high intensity workout with kick and boxing combination and choreography.
Cardio Step Level two step choreography, high intensity, faster pace.
Combo high impact with high intensity combination and choreography.
Cycle - Madness Plus A half hour of an intense cardiovascular workout on studio bikes. Then a half hour of upper body weights and abs.
Dance Aerobics a dance-oriented workout with several choreographed routines, primarily low impact.
Fusion - Flexible Strength Experience a unique flow of yoga postures, pilates and weight training designed to develop core strength, balance and flexibility.
Gentle Aerobics low impact and low intensity with dance choreography.
Hip Hop dance is a class designed to suit all levels of hip-hop dancer. The goal of his class is to provide a framework of choreography in which each dancer will be able to add their own personal style and attitude (NOT an aerobic workout, but a dance class). This class also focuses on an inclusive atmosphere, rather than a place that caters to any select group of dancers. Most of all, the class is designed for people to feel comfortable and shake their tails! Classes usually consist of a warm-up, stretching and choreography.
Indoor Cycling A cardiovascular workout performed on studio bikes built specifically for this indoor class. Perfect for all fitness levels. Bike shorts and water bottles are encouraged.
Latin Cardio high/low impact with Latin dance choreography.
Low Impact some impact with higher intensity and some choreography.
Pilates Focuses on the balance and efficiency of the whole body with special attention paid to the abdominal and breath support as well as proper skeletal alignment.
Step Interval Level two step choreography and weights.
Step One, Two & Three Each class type is unique because of its level of ability and complexity of choreography.
Stretch A pure stretch and relaxation designed to increase overall flexibility.
Yoga, and the more advanced Yoga Challenge, is a a combination of Hatha, lyengar, Kripalu and Ananada style yogas. Improve flexibility, balance, posture and strength while helping to reduce stress.
