Mission of YMCA Child Care
The mission of Y-Care is to provide a supportive, nurturing environment that enriches the development of the whole child and helps to provide a foundation for the entire family.

Philosophy
We are dedicated to providing high quality professional care to infants, toddlers and preschool children in YMCA programs. Creating the strong emotional bonds between the child, families and other children is the primary focus. Children need to feel emotionally and physically safe in their environment to reach their highest potential. We understand that children develop at different rates and incorporate that belief into every aspect of the program. We provide opportunities for children to engage in developmentally appropriate activities that focus on learning. Children in our program will experience environments that encourage growth in social, language, and cognitive and physical areas.

Tuition/Deposit
Tuition is based on the age group of the child and the number of days the child will be attending. Age groups are designated as Infant (3-24 months), Toddler or 2's Program (24-36 months) and Preschool (36 months-6 years). Tuition is a monthly fee and is due the 20th of the month prior to attending. Tuition guarantees your child's place at the center, therefore, no tuition credits or makeup days will be given for any absences.

The tuition includes a complimentary family membership to the Peninsula Family YMCA or other branches within the YMCA of San Francisco.

Financial Assistance
The Peninsula Family YMCA is a non-profit (501(c)3)organization that re-invests back into the programs being offered to the community. In the year 2002 approximately $500,000 in financial assistance was provided to over five hundred families involved in our facility, camp and community programs. Through the generosity of our many supporters, the YMCA can offer affordable programs and services designed to benefit people of all income levels. The YMCA works with single parents, unemployed parents and all families in difficult situations to provide assistance where needed. We will try and work with each family individually to create a plan that supports their need of quality child care. YMCA financial assistance forms are available to be filled out whenever the need arises. Financial assistance grants are usually approved for one year and recipients are encouraged to reapply on a yearly basis if the need still exists.

YMCA financial assistance applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
