The Urban School of Environmental Education is a multi-day, environmental outreach program designed to introduce students in grades 5-8 to the natural history of their local communities. We specialize in meeting the needs of city schools by providing high-quality, low-cost environmentally specific programming. Classes are divided into groups of 10-15 students led by a professional Naturalist trained in local environmental lore and issues.
The Urban School focuses on:
- * Understanding our urban human environments and appreciating local habitats, both pristine "natural" parks and altered urban neighborhoods
- * Exploring themes of cooperation, group building, community, and stewardship
- * Hiking to urban wildernesses at the local school, parks, or other nearby wilderness sites
