VOLUNTEER OPPORUNTITIES
Since its founding in 1844, the YMCA has existed for only one purpose: to fulfill the needs of its members. As those needs have changed, so has the YMCA. Because it relies so heavily on its own members, the reputation of the YMCA is determined, to a great extent, by the vision and commitment of its volunteers. Volunteer members of the YMCA not only assist with the delivery of life-changing programs, they formulate policy, develop new service initiatives, and evaluate existing programs. To become a Mission YMCA volunteer please call us at 415-586-6900.

Senior Center
In the Senior Center, volunteers are invaluable. They lead sing-alongs, bingo, and trips. Volunteers run the nutrition program which serves a daily hot lunch. They form the Senior Advisory Council and provide clerical help. They create the family spirit that makes the program so popular.
Youth Programs
Volunteers work closely with participants in our preschool, after school, day camp, family programs, and youth sports.
