Volunteer Opportunities

The Shih Yu-Lang Central YMCA is committed to a volunteer program that supports and maintains a well-screened, well-trained, diverse team of volunteers involved at all levels in the YMCA, working in partnership with staff, members, other volunteers and the community at large to exemplify the Y mission-in-action.

Why Volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will be providing an invaluable service to the YMCA and, therefore, to the community. However, you will also benefit from the experience in many ways by:

  • sharing in a sense of community and common purpose
  • developing new skills
  • growing personally
  • clarifying values
  • appreciating diversity
  • becoming a better leader
  • refreshing skills and strengths not currently in use
  • creating new job references
  • meeting new people and making new friends
  • acquiring meaningful training and education
  • using your talents to benefit others and worthwhile causes
  • exploring new strengths and talents
  • acquiring tax deductions for volunteer expenses
  • gaining recognition and achievement awards
  • earning our undying appreciation and thanks
  • simply having fun!

The YMCA is a volunteer driven organization. Join us and help us to meet our mission!
