The Buchanan YMCA is a branch of the YMCA of San Francisco.  Located in the Western Addition and Japantown communities, we have existed for only one purpose:  to meet  the needs of the community.  As those needs change so has the Buchanan YMCA.

We offer community programs such as the Western Addition Safe Haven, Hayward RecConnect, Western Addition Beacon Center, New Traditions Licensed Care & ExCEL Program, Dr. William Cobb ExCEL ASLP, Day Camp for youth and teens and extensive outreach programs to the communities that we serve. 

In addition we are a Health & Fitness Center with new state-of-the-art equipment and expanding group exercise classes that promote healthy lifestyles for youth, adults, and seniors.  As a membership organization we promote long-term relations as stakeholders in the community.  We promote volunteerism to assist with the delivery of life-changing programs, formulate policy, develop new service initiatives, and evaluate existing programs. We welcome you to our facility and our community.
